Hello baby eggplant!
I am in my early 30’s and to be honest I couldn’t point out an eggplant at the store if you asked me to. However, I am sure they are awesome and adorable. I do know they are purple. So congratulations on your purple eggplant sized baby! You are now nearing the end of the second trimester! Go you! What a huge milestone. I know how stressful and overwhelming pregnancy can be but you are doing amazing and you are getting there! You may start to feel new things such as heartburn [which in my opinion was worse than morning sickness], body aches, and sometimes it may feel that your heart is racing so fast it will jump out of your chest. From what I was told by my midwife this was a normal feeling but if you are concerned ring your doc! That is what they are there for. I always felt like I was being annoying calling my midwife over everything but understand this is your baby and your feelings are always valid.
Baby is a breathing machine with those developed lungs! Baby is not ready for the real world and would have a hard time breathing outside of the womb, however, baby is breathing well and practicing all sorts of things while on the inside. One thing that I remember during the sixth month was when I’d feel baby they would move when hearing loud noises and that was fun to see them interact with what was going on the outside. Remember every baby and every babies patterns will be different so don’t panic and always chat with your doctor about kick counts and what you should do to keep watch of that.
Your body - What is happening.
Weight gain is NORMAL. Don’t beat yourself up. I know you are because at this stage of your pregnancy you have gained weight. I was horrible on myself and that is not a good thing to do. You are growing a human and that human needs to grow and in order for that human to grow YOU need to eat more. Now don’t go to the buffet every night as that may not be the HEALTHIEST idea but then again, your body. But remember that your slow weight gain has a purpose but if you notice the weight is packing on fast and you are eating well and exercising chat with your doctor. As your body continues to change you may start to lose the desire to do anything and that is also okay, just make sure you are taking care of yourself physically and mentally.
What you should do this month.
Start checking out ideas for a baby registry. It is still a bit too soon but for me I was making pinterest boards RIGHT after finding out I was pregnant. Hey you never know what you may stumble upon then forget later on! So if you are ready to start piecing things together you should do so! There is still time to plan a getaway! I remember visiting family out of state during this month as I knew I would lose energy to do so in the upcoming months. Take a trip or do something fun with your partner or if you don’t have a partner do something for YOU. You are doing something hard and it is exhausting so make sure you are taking the time to pamper yourself because you deserve it.
my kids give me more anxiety than anything. it makes it so hard for me to want to be present and engaged with them. the touching, the loud noises, the moods.. i can't hang and i feel so guilty 24/7. motherhood is so hard for me and it breaks my heart.
i feel very unappreciated in my home. taken for granted. nobody gives a shit and it sucks.
Social distancing is making me realize even more how I have no friends. I hear from people only when they need me or need something from me. It's a good time to focus on family.
