IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOOWWWNNNNN.
Okay that once super tiny cute grain of rice sized baby is now a beautiful watermelon.
Personally I find watermelon to be the best fruit out there and now you are carrying a heavy, sweet, plump watermelon baby and you are reminded every step you take. However, you are almost done. The final month can honestly feel like a year long, it did for me. But hang in there these last few weeks will fly by especially if you are busy taking care of last minute things. Finishing up the baby’s space, getting the car seat installed properly, getting all of the hospital bags packed and ready to rock. Take this time to finish things up because you don’t want to wait any longer.
Baby’s lungs are still developing and they will continue to develop until birth so this is important to remember especially as you continue to be anxious about them coming. Even though we want them here let them stay let them grow it is what is best for baby. Baby may even be moving down into the birth canal and be in head down position if they aren’t already and trust me YOU WILL KNOW. I remember feeling a shift of weight and feeling baby differently but remember if you plan to have a vaginal birth this is perfect. Baby will also continue to pack on about half a pound a week from here on out but remember, all babies are different and all pregnant people are different.
Your body - What is happening.
You are tired, you are feeling heavy and you are feeling over it. You should be so proud of yourself because pregnancy is one crazy ride and you are doing such an amazing job! Go get pampered and it can be a massage, manicure or pedicure, whatever you enjoy doing to relax. Pay attention to your body at this point and discuss with your health care provider about braxton hicks and real labor because your body may be playing tricks on you to where you question “IS THIS LABOR!?”. They say you will KNOW but sometimes women are in full blown labor and not even realize it so trust your body and always reach out to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
What you should do this month.
Go take a bath, get a massage, get your nails painted and take a nap because once baby is here you won’t even have time to take a quick shower. So enjoy yourself and remember to BREATHE and give yourself a pat on the back because you are amazing. Get the car seat installed if it isn’t already, finish up your hospital bag, get your nesting out of the way and get that final childbirth class out of the way.
Labor is HARD but you can do hard things, I promise!
i can't stop crying. i try so hard but am reminded over and over that i'm not enough and never will be.
i wish i could get a hotel room to myself for the night just to be alone.
it's hard to trust people who flake constantly.
